- SUMMER 1168:
The War of Steel and Silk reaches its apex when Shiro Kitsuki is beseiged by the allied forces of the Lion and Crane Clans.
- AUTUMN 1168:
Emperor Toturi III dies in the Shadowlands while seeking Enlightenment. His chosen heir was his half-brother, and Shogun, Akodo Kaneka. Kaneka refuses the throne. Yoritomo ascends to Tengoku. The War of Fire and Thunder begins.
- WINTER 1168:
The War of Silk and Steel suddenly ends after Doji Domotai and Togashi Satsu sit down for tea. The Kitsune family joins the Mantis Clan. Moto Chagatai, Khan of the Unicorn Clan, seeing no one suitable to inherit the Empire besides Kaneka, invades the Lion lands in a shockingly effective surprise assault. The Unicorn decimate the Lion and move to take Toshi Ranbo. The Mantis support the Unicorn. The Lion and Crane oppose them. The Crab support whomever is strong enough to take the throne. The Dragon and Scorpion remain neutral. The Phoenix actively seek peace.
- SPRING 1169:
Moto Chagatai and the Unicorn, indirectly supported by the Mantis, assault Toshi Ranbo, and the combined might of the Lion and Crane Clans. Empress Toturi Kurako commits seppuku to avoid capture by the Khan. Chagatai and Kaneka lock in personal combat. Eventually, Chagatai gains the upper hand and dispatches the Shogun. Isawa Sezeru, brother of Toturi III dies in the fighting. The Unicorn armies are soundly defeated, however the Pheonix arrive and impose peace upon the Imperial City. The Pheonix allow Chagatai to return home in shame. Lion Clan Champion, Matsu Yoshino swears before all present that the Lion will have Chagatai’s head in honorable combat when they burn Shiro Moto to the ground. The Phoenix take stewardship of Toshi Ranbo. The betrayal of the Mantis goes unpunished. The ronin organization called the Spider begin fighting banditry and become heroes of the People.
- SUMMER 1169:
The Spider continue to do good works throughout the Empire. The Crab-Scorpion War ends when Hida Kisada kills Bayushi Higatsuku. The Third Yasuki War begins. The Lion continue hostilities with the Unicorn, marching ever on towards Shiro Moto. All Nezumi mysteriously leave Rokugan. Shosuro Jimen becomes the Emerald Champion.
- WINTER 1169:
Kuni Daigo becomes the Jade Champion. The Lion seize the Unicorn village of Watarimono, just miles from Shiro Moto.
- SPRING 1170:
The Lion invade Shiro Moto. Matsu Yoshino fights into the castle alone to engage Moto Chagatai in single combat. Chagatai runs Yoshino through, but Yoshino’s cunning traps Chagatai in the burning fortress. With Chagatai dead, Yoshino’s chosen successor, Akodo Shigetoshi makes peace with the Unicorn and returns home. Hida Kisada is killed… again.
- SUMMER 1170:
Phoenix intervention in the Third Yasuki War is rejected. Shinden Asahina is razed. The Battle of the Broken Wave occurs. A tainted navy, known as the Dark Wave attacks both the Mantis and Phoenix. Yoritomo Kaigen and Isawa Sachi sink the Dark Wave with powerful magics, though both perish.
- AUTUMN 1170:
The Celestial Tournament is held at Seppun Hill to decide the new Emperor of Rokugan. Kitsuki Iweko is crowned, becoming Empress Iweko I. Iweko I becomes the new Champion of Ningen-do, the representative of the Celestial Heavens on Earth. Jigoku follows suit, selecting Kali-Ma as its new Champion of Jigoku. Iweko I appoints Togashi Satsu the Voice of the Empress, Bayushi Hisoka as the Imperial Chancellor, the ronin Susumu as the Imperial Advisor, Moto Jin-sahn as the Shogun, and Yoritomo Utemaro as the Imperial Treasurer. Iweko I ends the Third Yasuki War. The War of Fire and Thunder ends, just before Iweko I could order it ended.
- WINTER 1170:
Iweko I issues the Decree of Peace, forbidding the Great Clans from waging war on one another. Moto Chen introduces the Imperial Court to the Spider. Susumu admits his loyalty to the Spider.
- SPRING 1171:
The Year of Silence begins. No shadowlands creatures attempt an attack upon the Kaiu Wall or are spotted by the Scouts at Kyuden Hiruma.
- SPRING 1172:
The War of Dark Fire and the Destroyer War begin. The Yobanjin attack from the north, opposed by the Unicorn and Dragon. The Crab and Lion unite against an unfathomable horde of Oni fleeing the Destroyers.
- SUMMER 1172:
Kali-Ma’s Destroyers arrive, easily destroying the weary Crab and advancing into the Crane Lands. Plague descends upon Rokugan. Bayushi Paneki succumbs to illness. The Horiuchi lands are purged.
- AUTUMN 1172:
Paneki’s Disgrace and a horde of Plague Zombies invade the Scorpion lands and are destroyed. The Destroyers advance continues, destroying much of the Crane lands, already decimated by plague and famine.
- WINTER 1172:
The War of Dark Fire ends, the Dragon, Unicorn, and Lion destroying the last of the Yobanjin invaders outside of Oiku. The biting cold of winter lessens the Destroyers power. The Rakshasa is killed. The Crab fortify the Iuchi and Shamate passes to protect the way to Toshi Ranbo. Susumu is killed, Iweko I creates the Susumu family and selects her second son, Iweko Shibatsu to be fostered among the new family.
- SPRING 1173:
The God-Beast is brought to bare, and is defeated, though the Destroyers gain much ground. The Armies of the Great Clans encircle the Destroyers and kill their remaining commanders. The Mantis discover the crippled Ivory Kingdoms.
- SUMMER 1173:
Kali-Ma recreates Beiden Pass and marches her army through the pass, giving her a direct path to Toshi Ranbo. The Spider delay the Destroyers at the North entrance to the pass. The Great Clans armies march to seal the Destroyers within the pass. Daigotsu commits sepukku. Fu-Leng regains divinity, and fights Kali-Ma within the Pass, defeating her. The Destroyer War ends. The Scorpion wage war with the surviving Spider, but Iweko I declares the Spider to be a Minor Clan, protecting them from the Scorpion’s wrath. The long standing Dragon-Scorpion Alliance is shaken. Iweko’s Peace is enforced by the Lion. 500 Lion who took part in the battle to protect the Spider commit seppukku.
- AUTUMN 1173:
Kakita Noritoshi and Shosuro Jimen finally manage to kill each other.
- SPRING 1184:
The Second City is founded. The majority of the surviving Spider are sent to the new land to secure it in Iweko’s name. Those Spider which remain are tasked with destroying maho-tsukai throughout the Empire. To that end, they were instructed to work closely with the Kuni.
- SUMMER 1175:
The Crab complete the North and South Beiden Walls, locking in the taint created by the God Battle which took place there.
- SPRING 1184:
Bayushi Shinichiro wins the Topaz Championship. Shinichiro and five other contestants are awarded positions within the Emerald Magistrate’s office, and are assigned under Akodo Torokai in Dragon’s Guard City.
- SUMMER 1184:
Iweko I announces a new Test of the Emerald Champion, though the Test suffers many delays. Crown Prince Iweko Seiken allows the Spider a single contestant. The Spider select a minor and relatively unknown samurai, Susumu Kanpeki. In a minor court, Utaku Mei, daughter of Utaku Yu Pan, is allegedly dishonored and defiled by a low ranking Lion samurai. Though Mei denies the allegations, tensions between the two clans become as openly hostile as can be allowed under Iweko’s Peace. In a strange repeat of the last Test of the Emerald Champion, Kakita Ichiro bows to Susumu Kanpeki, making him the new Emerald Champion.
- WINTER 1184:
Iweko Seiken and Iweko Shibatsu have a heated, though veiled argument at the Imperial Winter Court. Rumors spread throughout the Empire of their rivalry. Diplomatic efforts at the Winter Court of Toshi no Omoidoso are complicated when Agasha Chieh, in a drunken fit, insults the entire Mantis Clan. After much consideration the Elemental Council orders Chieh to commit sepukku. Diplomacy continues through the efforts of Yoritomo Obaami.
- SPRING 1185:
Yasuki Shishinza, Emerald Magistrate of Broken Wave City is murdered. Several weeks later the position is filled by the team of Bayushi Shinichiro and Utaku Aeko. Kitsune Ryukan dies leaving the Kitsune family without an heir. His wife, Wananari, assumes control of the family until a suitable Kitsune can be elevated to lordship. The Battle of Black Dawn, the first large scale armed conflict in many years takes place on the Phoenix coast near Broken Wave City. Led by a humble, yet brilliant yoriki, Matsu Ai, the disparate Spider, Phoenix, and Emerald Magistrate forces win a bitter battle while fighting nearly 3 to 1 against a maho-wielding kaizokuban, the Yurei no Sanada. Though they are victorious, their commander dies in single combat with the enemy leader, a former Lion called Masarugi.
